A Lover’s plight

I tell you that I love you but only through my lens

I tell you that I need you but it’s all inside my head

You love me through you actions

But I’m too deaf to sense

You move mountains and hills for me

All at your expense

Time with me makes you content

But boy am I so dense

I’m sorry that I hurt you

I wish I could retract

I take and take and take

But never recall to put back

To spend time with me is a generous gift

I’ve been too selfish to know

You give so much and all you ask

Is for love to overflow

The value of time is not in quantity

But in the quality of how it’s spent

I’m sorry for hurting you

And making you discontent

I tell you that I love you but no longer through my lens

No longer sitting idle and up upon that fence

I’ll love you through my actions

Because you deserve love and only satisfactions

Yours
